Hear me out: imagine the jewelry equivalent of those old soda taste-test commercials. Blindfold someone, put two pieces of jewelry in their hands, then ask them to pick the older one based only on weight and feel. I'd bet most people would get it right. The difference is usually pretty obvious once you feel it: the weight, the craftsmanship, the quality of the materials. That's just one of the many reasons we love treasure hunting. Most of our days are spent wandering antique malls, estate sales, flea markets, and auctions, hoping the next tray or basket holds something extraordinary to bring to you.

My name is Margaret, and this is Debbie. Together, we're Serious Moonlight Vintage! The name pays tribute to our love of David Bowie and classic rock in general. (And yes, we're also suckers for a good moon.) We strive every day to save those special pieces, and the history and stories they carry, from ending up in the landfill.

Debbie and I met over 20 years ago in one of the best places to meet lifelong friends: high school band class. Over the years, we've stayed incredibly close and collected the most hilariously strange stories along the way. (Maybe I'll share a few on Substack someday.)

I've been obsessed with jewelry since I was a little girl, and in 2024 I decided to start selling a few of my finds. That quickly grew into an eBay store and Whatnot shows. Debbie joined the team in 2025 (she's the brains of the operation), and together we're building something we're really proud of.
