The Hunt for Old Jewelry in the Oldest US Settlement

My first time visiting St. Augustine, Florida was on my honeymoon back in 2012. We decided to make a stop there for a night on our way to Orlando, and I fell in love. At that time, I was still in grad school at UNC Charlotte, studying the Civil War. Needless to say, I geeked out on the city’s incredible history. I couldn’t believe a place like that existed in America! It became a magical place in my mind; Spanish moss hanging on trees, a massive fort, the haunting lighthouse, and the pedestrian-only old city, where every building is adorned with plaques stating how many hundreds of years old they are. Since then, every return trip has cemented it as one of mine and my husband’s favorite vacation spots. If you haven’t been, seriously, you MUST go.
