This late Victorian portrait brooch is a popular depiction of a "peasant" and would have been purchased as a souvenir by American tourists to Europe on their "Grand Tour" travels. Twisted frame is/was gold filled (has some wear and tone loss) and the transfer image has some wear and scratches. The pin is loose and has trouble staying in the c clasp. It might be able to be tightened! A nice little piece to add to your collection.
