Vintage Art Deco Sterling Silver Filigree Necklace, Purple Glass Pendant, Peanut Chain, 16"

$125.00

This is one of those necklaces that is even better in person.

A true Art Deco-era piece, this sterling silver necklace features a beautiful purple stone, which may be glass or something more valuable, hanging from an unusually delicate peanut/paperclip chain. The combination is fantastic. The ornate filigree pendant has plenty of Art Deco character, while the slender chain keeps the whole thing feeling surprisingly light and wearable.

Both the back of the pendant and the clasp are stamped. The mark on the back of the pendant is very difficult to make out, but we think it might be an Otsby Barton maker's mark. We're not quite confident enough to call it, so we'll leave that little mystery for the next owner to investigate.

The necklace measures right around 15.5 to 16 inches long.

It's a beautifully made little piece with a lot of personality. We especially love the contrast between the detailed sterling filigree, the pop of purple, and that wonderfully unusual chain. Definitely not your average Art Deco necklace.
